About

An institute for work readiness.

The Work Readiness Institute Australia helps organisations develop their people, and measure how they develop. It turns work-applied learning into a method for building capability through real work — and evidencing it.

Our Purpose

Skills are often taught and then assumed, but rarely measured. WRIA develops them through real work, checks progress from three viewpoints, and shows the result.

What WRIA Does

What we do

WRIA maintains a work-applied learning model and the method behind it — a disciplined way to develop capability through real work and evidence the result.

01

Codifies the model

WRIA maintains the work-applied learning model — the theory, the programme frameworks and the measurement approach — so it can be run consistently rather than rebuilt each time.

02

Delivers it online

Each programme runs entirely online through WRIA’s platform, built around a real project in the participant’s own role, so learning happens in the flow of their work rather than away from it.

03

Certifies and assures

WRIA reviews participants’ work centrally, returns structured feedback, and holds the standards behind the method — so development stays consistent wherever a programme runs.

Heritage & Lineage

Where the model comes from

WRIA’s model draws on a long tradition of work-applied learning: reflective practice, action learning, and the idea that people build skills by doing real work.

I

A tradition of practice

Work-applied learning comes from a long-held idea in adult and professional education: people build lasting skills through real work, not away from it.

II

Reflective practice

Reflection is central: people examine their own work, turning experience into better judgement.

III

Action learning

Working through real problems shows that learning and performance improve together.

IV

Codified into a model

These ideas were brought together into a repeatable model: knowledge, project, questioning and performance in one cycle.

V

A model you can measure

WRIA builds that capability through real work, with progress evidenced through triangulated feedback. [ Placeholder — founding year ]

WRIA develops capability in the work itself. If that is how you want to develop your people, we would like to hear from you.
